Recent Layouts

I've been quite the busy little artist lately. I just submitted my biggest DT application and now just have to wait to see what happens. However, in the meantime, I have a few gems to share!

I hope that these pages capture your imagination
and inspire you to create too. These are some of my favorites of all time. I have to admit that they caused me quite a bit of anxiety because I had a certain vision and while creating I saw that my vision was coming to fruition which made me crazy nervous because I didn't want to "mess up" when I was so close! Well, I didn't and I'm just so happy. It is such a beautiful feeling to create something that exceeds the vision that you had for it. I hope that you too can have this experience if you haven't already. And if you had, here's to a second (or third) helping!

I think that my two main professions: artist and mother are so interrelated. Both are involved with creating something beautiful and both have so much at stake. Sometimes mothering makes me crazy nervous because I just don't want to mess up. However, I'm realizing that even when I do mess up, there are ways of fixing, covering up, or even working with the supposed mistake and making it a positive. Thank goodness children are so adaptable and so forgiving.

Speaking of children, since I want to protect my babies, so I'll be using special names for all of them in this blog. (I'm one of those annoying people who has nicknames for everyone.) So my 6 year old daughter is Sweetpea, my 4 year old daughter is Toodles, my 2 year old son is Mr. Moonie and my 9 month old baby girl is Snukie. Silly, I know, but I call them these names more than their actual names so now you will too. My husband, (who, by the way, doesn't need protection) will be referred to as Big Man. I told him this and he joked that I should refer to him as "Humpty Dumpty" or the "Bald One" since he is hair-growth-challenged. (I wonder what is the politically correct way of calling someone bald?) But, I prefer Big Man so that's what it will be.

Hi Beth, I love the blog so far! Your scrapbook pages are awesome, and I can't imagine why you wouldn't make the design team you are trying out for. I'm sending some good luck vibes your way! I wish we lived closer so we could scrapbook together, how fun would that be?!
Give my brother a hug and a big hello for me.
