About

Bethany Kartchner is a wife, mother of six (ages 12 to 2), biochemistry student and mixed-media artist. Passionate about learning new things, she always tries to stretch herself in her work whether it be maternal, artistic or academic. Thanks to her varied passions, there is always something interesting going on in her life.

Her artistic work has appeared in many magazines including Somerset Studio, Creating Keepsakes, PaperCrafts, Art Quilting Studio, Sew Somerset, GreenCraft, Somerset Gallery, Somerset Apprentice, Create with Me, Somerset Memories, and Scrapbook Trends. Bethany's work has graced the cover of national magazines: Somerset Apprentice and GreenCraft as well as a local magazine:  South Mountain Villager. She has also acted as a contributing artist to multiple books including Creative Foundations (F+W Media). She exhibits frequently with The Laveen Art League in Arizona and has had an exhibit at Buell Children's Museum in Pueblo, Colorado.

Bethany is just beginning her journey into biochemistry. Her main passion is the chemistry of microorganisms and her dream is to develop a solution to the MRSA problem. Currently, she is taking online classes and preparing for the time when her youngest children are in school full-time and she can take in-person classes. She welcomes emails at kartchnerfamily@cox.net
