Incredible work! Mary is a marvel with a needle and thread. She is one of those immensely talented people: world-famous archer, crafter, wife, mother. I am amazed at what she can do with her hands. She made a bunch of miniature food when she was a kid. It was amazing. I remember that the carrots actually had creases in them like real carrots and the peas were perfect little circles. And in high school she wrote an entire semesters worth of biology notes on one 8.5x11 sheet of paper in the shape of a triangle. Quite the creative little bee wouldn't you say? So thank you Mary for sharing this beautiful piece with me! I'll treasure it and display it with great honor.
Here are a few cards that I whipped up the other day for my brother's very belated birthday (in my defense, I did call him on the big day) and for a dear friend who made some delish caramel for my family. As you can see I used the same sketch and varied it ever so slightly. These came together quickly and were a joy with all the doodling. I love how one is very girly-girl and the other is more masculine. Just varied the doodles and made sure that the paper I used didn't have a pink stripe for Florid's.
I finished my first Study in Circles yesterday night. I used colored pencils, watercolor crayons and acrylics. I'm pretty happy with the results although I think that next time I'll stick with one medium since it gives the piece a more cohesive look. Luckily there are three challenges! Not sure how I'm going to use this. Will I display it? Put in a binder? It was refreshing to create something simply for creation purposes.
