Hambly

I've been very excited about the new Hambly overlays so I used one for the weekly challenge at Pencil lines. For this piece I wanted something light, airy and romantic so I glued circles from My mind's eye paper onto the back of the transparency so that the overlay design would show through. However, the circles seemed to get lost until I distressed them using Ranger Walnut ink and Ranger Black soot ink. I printed the photos out in 3x2 and also distressed them the same way. Heidi Swapp chipboard letters painted with acrylic and distressed make up the title. I glued everything down using diamond glaze which dries clear. However, I noticed that the diamond glaze warped the overlay just a bit. Photographing the piece was the most difficult because of extreme glare. I found that the best solution was to place the page on a white sheet on the floor near a bright window. I found that back lighting was also somewhat effective. I love how it turned out. The Hambly overlay even looks like little curls.
Both Mr. Moonie and Toodles are sick today. Poor things. I hear them downstairs hacking like crazy. They've been watching Mr. Incredible for about 2 days straight. Hopefully they'll feel better tomorrow. I know that Toodles will be heartbroken if she has to miss a day of preschool.
I received an email from the company to whom I applied to do some design work. (Was that last sentence grammatically correct? I think that I rewrote it about 5 times.) They thanked me personally for my application and informed me that the announcement would be made by the end of September. Another whole week to wait! Yipes. I was quite impressed that they would contact me though. Many companies don't at all. It makes me all the more excited to possibly work for them! I'll force myself to only check the site once a day. It will be difficult. But I will. I will.
I'm still working on getting a gallery up. Since I'm new to this blogging business, I don't really know how to go about doing this. If you have any hints, please feel free to comment! Thanks!

Once again your layout is awesome! Thanks for explaining how you put it together, I will have to try some of those techniques. Good luck on the design team, they would be crazy not to take you!
