New Owl Friends

Here is another 2 page LO and card that I finished recently. It was for a Birthday Bash contest on TallyScrapper. I had to do a layout and a card using the same materials. Even though I didn't win, I still think it turned out fantastic. I really challenged myself with the Tinkering Ink Perfectly Posh pattern paper. It was red with huge flowers on it so it wasn't easy to use. I ended up cutting the flowers out and using one on the LO and the other on the card. I added the dots to tie it with the letters. I really like the doodling I did on the photos. It really made the subjects pop. (They were getting a bit lost with all the huge flower and the bright colors.) Here is page one.

And page 2.And the full effect...
Saturday was the official owl swap day so I received my sweet new owly friends. They are fantastic! The smaller one from Erin has bias tape wrapped around it. Since it is so beautiful, I'm really going to have to come up with a great project. It deserves only the best of my creativity. The bigger owl, from Beth, will occupy a place of honor in my home. The hand stitching and the fabric are incredible. And the wings move too! The creativity that surrounds me is just amazing. Don't you think? I am so blessed to associate with these artistic women. A big thank you from the bottom of my heart to both of them.Today I'm going to do a bit of catch-up since I'm holding off on the scrapping until I receive my kit from Scrapbook Circle. I'm going to be their guest designer for October! (I'm quite excited!) I think that I'll make a few cards with a mini-kit I got from Daisy Ds and perhaps work on a few ballerina skeletons that have been waiting for skirts, and faces, and shoes. I also need to recover from this weekend of pestilence. If I don't get distracted by my art, I may even clean. (gasp!) I hope that you have a very productive Monday!
