As part of my guest appearance at My Mind's Eye, I was asked to participate in the monthly Top 10 challenge. Each month, the designers do a quick recap layout of the prior month. I've never done something like this before, but I was intrigued by the idea. Here's my layout. (I used the Alphabet Soup line from MME.)
It was a challenge to include so many pictures, but I have to admit that this layout will probably be one of the faves of all time. Not because it is particularly well done artistically, but because it is full (and I mean full!) of memories. In a few months, I would have forgotten how amazing July 2010 was, not because I don't want to remember, but because life simply gets busy. And it isn't like anything really life-changing happened in July, but Q jumping out of his crib and Z loosing both front teeth and finding out that we're having another boy and getting to know my sweet nephew better are all small events that immensely enrich our family's life. These are the types of things I want to remember forever. Those small miracles (like Q surviving his jump) and those small steps toward building better personal relationships are what is important, right? I also think that slowing down (even if it is for only an hour a month) simply to take stock and count one's blessings is equally important in life.
I liked doing this project so much that I'm planning on participating in the MME Top 10 Challenge for the rest of the year (and hopefully for many years afterward.) If you have any interest, I'd highly suggest joining in with me. In fact, I think in January, I'll start with a album that I'll dedicate specifically for this purpose.
I posted a bit more about my design process on the My Mind's Eye blog, if you are interested. You can read about it here.
Have a wonderful weekend!

This is such a fun layout. I love how you captured so much info on the page. This is a great idea!
It's gorgeous Bethany! I too don't use many photos on one layout much, and I LOVE it!!! I'm glad I keep a "weekly art journal" where I put and write things like this in it, 'cause it is all worthwile to be remembered!!! Have a great weekend!
You know I for one am a big fan of multiple pic LO's, and yours is wonderful! It looks good and like you said, its meaning/the memories are even more precious!
