Photography Challenge

I forgot to mention yesterday that I just posted a Photography Challenge at Bad Girls. It is pretty simple, but sometimes that's the best type of challenge.

Here is one of the pictures that I used as an example. Isn't he just the handsomest little dude? Man, I don't exactly know where those eyes came from, but I'm sure glad he got them!

I took this picture while C was playing in the shower after his swim lesson this summer. That red wall is a fabulous background. Unfortunately, it is located in the women's bathroom at the pool so I wasn't able to do a whole photo shoot there even though I tried.

I can't believe this week is almost over already. The days just seem to be flying by. Yesterday was the Halloween Costume Decision Deadline in our house and all the kids had to decide by dinner what they were going to be this year. There is no changing now. D wants to be Asoka (a girl Jedi who sports an extensive head piece that requires some serious crafting skill). Z is wavering between Princess Leia and Queen Amidala. She tentatively decided Princess Leia and I'm holding her to that. C is going to be Jedi Luke Skywalker with a light saber. E is going to be Hello Kitty (her favorite thing in the world). I know that E is wrecking the whole Star Wars theme, but I just don't have time to make a Yoda or a Wicket costume. Plus, I think that Hello Kitty made a very small appearance in at least one of the movies. Wasn't she in the back somewhere in a crowd scene? Luckily Z's, E's and C's costumes are relatively easy because D's headwear is going to take days for me to make. I ruminated without success over the mechanics of it for weeks (she gave me a heads-up a little while ago) until I had a major breakthrough last night. I purchased all the supplies at Home Depot today and I'm pretty excited to get started. My first attempt better work because I simply don't have time to experiment with other options.

In the meantime, I'm still working furiously on various design deadlines, praying that newest Kartchner boy doesn't decide to come early. I had a bit of a panic attack this morning when I awoke because I realized that he will be coming this month. I still have so many things to do. Like baby announcements. I've always made the announcements months in advance so once the baby arrives, all I have to do is snap a cute picture and fill in the details. This time, I've got NOTHING done. I don't even have a design in my head yet. So, if you've seen any cute ideas lately, please leave me a comment and a link because I'm getting a little anxious over here in my almost-done-gestating world.

He is a DOLL!

Random announcement ideas:
Seasonal themes-
"A precious new baby has fallen into our lives" autumn colors with a little squirrel and some acorns.
"Here's our newest sweet treat!"
candy corn, candy or carmel apple,
cute little "Casper" marshmallow ghost, whitish glitter to resemble sugar. (I can't help but mention a licorice spider after reading your black widow post.)

Sports-
"Baby's name, Baby's name, he's our
boy. Welcome him to our team." From the old fashion cheer.
Design with a sports' theme-pick your fav or do a sampling.

"We've scored again. Meet our newest player .......! Or Proudly introducing our newest
player....." Design idea-same as previous.

General-

"Our fifth has arrived. We present him with pride! OR We welcome him with pride!"

Hope one of these works or gives you the inspiration you need!
