Ribbon Spool Notes

Inspired by my project here, Jen Benoit made this project here. Isn't that fun? I'm so glad she let me know!

Today is another crazy busy day so I don't have much time to post so I'll leave you with a quick thought from Eleanor Roosevelt.

"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, I loved through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along...You must do the thing you think you cannot do."

This really pertains to my mental state today. I'm fearful. I'm working on my first project for a company after my major stumble a week ago. Yes, I've done projects since then, but they were solely for me. They weren't for someone else. There wasn't anything at stake.

I'm scared. What if they don't like it? What if I really don't have what it takes? What if I really am a sham?

I'm forcing myself to take risks with this project. I'm not allowing myself to play it safe. I know that I just need to get right back on that horse. The first ride after a fall is the hardest. After that it will get easier again. I know that.

I can do this.

I know it.

Never Scared

I'm just too plum tuckered out to post much today so I'll leave you with a few good quotes.

"If you're never scared or embarrassed or hurt, it means you never take any chances."
--Julia Sorel

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Mrs. Schenk's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and I really lived."
