Christmas Recital

Now that I have a bit more time, I thought that I'd post a few pre-Christmas events. One of my favorites was the Christmas recital. I had three kiddos doing various activities. It was really fun to see them on stage.

Here's a pre-recital picture. No, no little actresses here. The other pre-recital pic (unposted) had D in a very prima position. The girls were really excited because they got the full make-up treatment: eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, lipstick, blush. When they got there, they had their hair sprayed with glitter. So did C and E. It was quite the affair.

Here are the two girls performing to Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Z spent most of her time arranging the other girls and making sure that everyone was in their proper place.

And here is C performing to Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer sung by Jewel. It was adorable. Made me laugh out loud (in a happy way) to see him. Basically, they were given free reign on the dance. C spent most of his time doing circles. He was on beat, however.

Then D played Ode to Joy on the piano. She was magnificent. She played with feeling and everything. Beautiful.

At the end, I just gathered the three performers in my arms and gave them big proud hugs. It was such a wonderful mom moment. It makes all the driving and calling and arranging worthwhile, doesn't it?
