Yeah for Me!

I just found out that I won the December challenge at Bad Girls with my This is Christmas layout! I'm just thrilled!

Journaling: As a child, I thought that it was strange to have a Santa perched at the top of a Christmas tree. It should be a star, or an angel, like we had. But my grandparents hung this Santa in the place of honor every year without fail. And so, he has come to represent Christmas to me. When I see him, I think of the love I felt in my grandparent’s home. The stockings that always had an orange, an apple and a small stuffed animal. The packages piled high. The envelopes containing checks slipped into the tree. The delicious dinner. The laughter and the hugs. And the evening when we would pile into the car to go home and everything was beautiful and peaceful and the entire world lay at my feet.
Techniques: Stamping with large bubble wrap
Cardstock: Bazzil
Pattern Paper: American Crafts (cut out leaves)
Stickers: Creative Imaginations: Narratives by Karen Russell; Glitter alpha Making Memories
Pens: zig, micron
Buttons: Joanns; Dress It Up

Other: Sparkle stars: KI Memories; Brads and Metal words Making Memories; Hambly overlay, red acrylic paint

I also just posted a sketch challenge on the blog at Itty Bitty Scrap Shack. You can see it here. I'd love for you to participate! If you do, leave me a comment so I can gush. We are doing all kinds of great things there so I hope that you'll visit. I'm working right now on the Technique of the Week for the first week of February. It is on rub-ons and I think that you will learn just how versatile rub-ons are. I've got some really neat stuff up my sleeve. Okay, not up my sleeve, but on my scrap table. I almost can't wait to tell you! I feel like it's Christmas again!

Congrats, great layout! I love the sketch you picked, I will have to give that one a try. I love Becky Fleck's sketches, and use them a lot. I print out the maps for each month and put them in my idea book.
